I. Clarify, modify as may be required, and obtain approval for the objectives and goals of this committee.
II. Review Terms of Reference and make modifications as may be required to achieve
objectives and goals.
III. Build on all work done regarding Harassment, Assault and Gender Based Violence (HAGBV) in the past and to the present and determine action plans required to drive achievement of the goals and objectives of the Committee as raised in 1) above.
IV. Work with the QC Principal and Management to understand their perspective and obtain a mutually agreeable updated action plan; Simultaneously work with the Federal Ministry of Education to put in place protocols for implementation in all unity schools starting with Queen’s College as Pilot (this is to get FME approval for whatever is to be done in QC).
V. Ensure execution of initiatives by this Committee that directly support Queen’s College in addressing HAGBV issues raised on a sustainable basis
a. Set-up an Independent Harassment, Assault and Gender Based Violence (HAGBV) Unit in the school that will provide protocols and resources to support teachers and staff.
b. Provide an independent hotline with trained counsellors, and where girls, teachers and other persons can call in or send a message to report an assaults or harassment or rape; and hold the relevant persons and authorities accountable.
VI. Identify projects and initiatives for referral to other more appropriate QCOGA committees; and see the implementation of such projects and initiatives driven by other committees, through to resolution.
VII. Any other assignment as may be determined by EXCO.
